An Opportunity to say "Thank you"

People, with some delay I want to open the board to everyone of us who wants to thank Meike and Christof for their tremendous effort makin' the excursion one event to remember.
I would like to go ahead and express my gratitude to both of you, Meike and Christof. I had a great and exciting time in D.C. and I feel kinda proud being part in this course. And boy - did I learn much! Old Swede! ;-)

But I also wanna address the rest of the group: Guys, I think we all got along greatly and got to know each other a little better. Special thanks are goin' out to Marta and Annka, my TOP-roommates who sweetened my days with their full-service-package. That includes the indispensable coffee in the early mornings, the not less important bagels and cereal, as well as their fearless commitment to my Vengaboys-affinity! Garage-Partey @ aight pm in room 538!

Furthermore, I wanna thank United Airlines for not charging us for food, I wanna thank Mt. Vernon's camel for stepping on my toe, and I am thankful for every banana I had in D.C.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE !!!

P.S. I am planning to create an "Outtakes" post within the next couple of days. Please let me know (peter@camsky.de) if you want to have a picture (that might show you in an inappropriate way, haha) removed by the admin of this blog :)

  1. ...uuaaahh!! I'm proud to be the first to comment on these wonderful words Pete has put down here in this wonderful blog!

it was a great experience traveling to Washington, D.C. (Washington, D.C.!!!!) with all of you guys, and especially with you, Meike and Christof. you really complemented one another and were the best "tour guides" for the time we spent in this impressive city.
it was my first trip to the USA and I'm really glad I had the chance to make it with you.

people all the time ask me "und, wie war's in D.C.?" and I still can't really find the words to describe what we've experienced on this excursion, I can only name them all the places we went and all the interesting people we met. but they don't understand how great it was because they haven't been there!!! (so now I always say "es war der absolute ober-hammer!" and point to my new cool sneakers! :-))

but, seriously, I think I will never again have the chance to get to know so many interesting and diverse people like we did in Washington. and I feel really privileged about that.

so, what more can I say than: thank you, thank you, thank you, Meike and Christof, for allowing me to take part in this! it was my highlight of the year - actually it was my highlight of the last three years or so...

also thank you to steffi r. for all the organization stuff you did, and another enormous thank you to pistol-"the-master-of-the-blog"-pete! I think without you the trip would have been half the fun! seriously.
and to all you other guys: I really had a great time with you!

so many words... from someone like me that usually doesn't really say a lot (especially not when being supposed to say something or at least ask questions... ;-))

    see you all soon,
until then: merry christmas and so on... :-)

  2. Following in line with Pete and AK, I would like to thank Meike an Christof for making this trip possible and putting together this great group. We all felt very privileged and I can say at least for my part that it definatelly exceeded my expectations. To not bore you all with the same thanks to everybody, just give yourself a pat on the back and be proud of making this trip work they way it did! I'm looking forward to seeing you in January!

    Merry Christmas everyone!
